Well I confess I'm just lying here in bed and just remembered that I started this last week which is why this is an usually late post!
This week I lost another 1lb taking me up to 2 stone 13lb or 41 pounds in total! I was a little disappointed not to get my 3 stone award this week but it just means I can work hard and get it next week! :)
I've had another really good week this week. Spent lots of time at the gym and me and mum also did an aqua circuit class on Monday with one of the girls I work with and her mum! I absolutely loved it and we booked to go again next week straight away! Basically you do things you would expect in an aqua aerobics class which didn't activities in the water but he split us into 2 groups, half did the exercises and the other half used this special water gym equipment they have which is basically gym style equipment that can be used in the water. They had a rower, bike, cross trainer, stepper as well as a couple that involved either lifting all of you up by your arms or just your legs up and down! I tell you what the resistance in the water was awesome and I felt like I had a proper work out! Like I say we are going again so I think this may become our regular Monday thing :D
I'm going to have another good week this week and get my 3 stone award :D
I knew when I started slimming world a long time ago that I had quite a bit of weight to lose. I sometimes think it can be a little bit overwhelming when you know you have more than a couple of stone to lose and I think sometimes this has thrown me. For a while, I got to my close to my 2 stone (even within half a pound one time) and then put weight back on. I yoyo'ed up and down for quite a few years doing slimming world, I always went to class but I think i felt like getting over the 2 stone hurdle was something which seemed quite a mental challenge for me.
When you have a lot of weight to lose it can be hard to see the end in site. If you follow me on instagram or twitter you may have seen me posting lots of slimming world related pictures. I am really focused at the moment. I dont know what has clicked in my head but it did. I got over the 2 stone hurdle and havent looked back. However knowing I have a way to go, even looking at it at half a stone at a time can still seem daunting.
Queue Wunderlist. I LOVE making lists. Weird how some of us are like that isnt it. I think there is nothing more satisfying than crossing a goal off once you achieve it and I decided to set up myself a little wunderlist called Operation Skinny. Yes I want to lose weight and get to a target weight but I also want to get fit and healthy at the same time and so my Operation Skinny lists include goals. It does include 2 weight related goals in which I have changed my weight to kg and pounds to make mini goals for me to achieve but I thought i would share a couple of the other goals with you!

Are you a list maker? Do you make fitness Goals??
I said wayyyyy back in January when I made my goals for this year that weight loss and fitness were one of my goals for 2013. I am really focussed in terms of weight loss at the moment, I am really embracing Slimming World and everything it has to offer. I said on the same post that I would think about joining the gym when I got back from my holiday and sure enough, I looked into the prices etc and yesterday we went for a look around.
The gym which I decided I wanted to join is quite a new gym.. well sort of. It has always been a gym / swimming baths which we have used for years but over the past 12-18 months they have had a new building built next door with all new equipment and all posh etc.

I hadnt been into the new building but people had told me it was lovely and a good facility inside. As I say me and mum went for a look around yesterday. I have to say I was SO impressed. The swimming pool is a 25m pool with at least 2 lanes blocked off at all for people who want to swim which I thought was fab! The gym itself was lovely and really open. It has lots of different equipment and there is plenty of the machines so i dont think you would be fighting for them! Also I loved their little technology gadget which you get when you join. Its like a little key that you use for all the machines in the gym, when you go swimming and a lot of other things apparently and it helps you to track your progress! O love this idea, particularly as I want to build up and get fitter as I lose weight. They also have a great range of classes avaliable and a climbing wall which I will defiantly be having a go of.
Anyway tonight me and mum are going back to take our filled in paperwork we picked up yesterday and are officially going to join (we couldnt do it there and then as we wanted the corporate membership as you get NHS offer but we didnt have our ID badges).
As a little treat I had already decided I was going to treat myself to a new bag to take to the gym with me. I have had my eye on this for ages and on the way home yesterday I picked this up.
Photo: Argos
I picked this up from Argos for £14.99 - it should have been £19.99 but it currently has 25% off.
I was mooching online earlier and I accidentally may have also ordered myself some new trainers!
I really like Sketchers and when I saw these sketcher running shoes on the Sports Direct website for £20.00 with £54.99 off - I couldnt not have them! I am excited for them to arrive now (is that sad)
I cant wait to get cracking in the gym. I will keep you updated on my fitness goals etc :D
As you may probably know I am quite an active membe of my church and attend every week. This week as I sat listening to the sermon something really hit home with me. One of the congragation who used to be a vicar was standing in this week as our vicar is off in Germany doing vicary stuff.
Anyway father Michael was talking about love, loving others, loving your neighbour. It was at this point what he said hit me. He said this is all well amd good but how can you do all of this if along the way you dont love youself. This may sound a bit selfish, lets face it, its not the usual thing you hear a vicar saying is it?? But what he said deep down reakky made me think. How can you love others or let others love you if you dont love yourself. Love is something we all long for from life. I cant wait to meet that special person to spend the rest of my life with but how can I ever expect someone to do this when I dont love myself because deep down I cant say that I do.
If you follow my instagram, twitter or even this blog you will know I am doing slimming world. Its not something I am new to but it is something I have found when I really try actually works. So why have I spent the last however many years of my life messing about. I have been unhappy with my weight for such a long time, I have always been the big one amongst my friends, the one when we went shopping that had to stand around while they shopped in the "normal" shops where they didnt do my size. Even as I have grown older, things havent changed really. I admit the last few months have seen a change and I have got my 2 stone lost, something I have battled to get on numerous occasions. However the last few weeks my head seems to have lost focus. However sunday I really felt something click, I need to do this, if I want to be loved by others, if I want to be able to share love with someone I need to show myself some love.
I have been making some goals for myself. I want to join the gym when I come back from florida and start to get fit and active, next year I want to do the colour run (if you havent seen it seriously google it - amazeballs), I want to make fitness one of the things I enjoy in life, try new things; yoga, pilates.... I habe been pinning some cool things on pinterest, head over to check it out in my health and fitness board, I am going to make health and fitness and slimming world a more active part of this blog and not only will I be able to document my journey but I can take you along with me!!
Ok so after my blog post last thursday when I posted the song which matched my mood... I said I needed to move on.... Scrolling across google reader I came across these images which completely sum up my feelings.
Also this week I brought some nail art pens from ebay. I got 24 for £6.95 which I thought was a fab deal. I shall do a blog post about them when I have experimented with them on my nails (they only came today so not had a chance. :)
Last week when I posted about moving on... I had sent a text 2 days earlier.. just a simple text saying something like hi how are you and asking how his first day back at work had gone (hes a teacher) and when I still hadnt had a text by thursday I though wow... that kind of sums it up. Usually when I text him he texts me back within the hour and if not usually the next day. But when I didnt get a text back at all I thought it kind of summed up my need to move on. We had spoken about our "relationship". When I say relationship I mean we had a chat, I really liked him and asked him out for a drink and he said he valued our friendship too much (we had been working together at a school where I did part of my teacher training and I really fancied him and we had got on really well.) I waited until I finished before asking him out because obviously I wanted to be professional.
Anyway we said we would be friends. When we worked together we would text each other quite a lot. I found my self going over my texts every month while I was there because we would text each other. We said we had "the chat" things wouldnt change. You know when people say this its crap and they will. Over the whole of the summer I think I sent him 3 texts. One to say that I hoped he had a nice holiday (he was going to cyprus) and a friendly one when he got back to say Hope he had a nice time (and one more which followed but never quite went into a convo) So when he didnt text me back by Thursday I decided that what I wrote in that blog post was right. I needed to move on, stop thinking about him and hoping he would change his mind and not forget about him completely but move on from my feelings from him.
I was doing SO well not thinking about him until, like the last photo says - he finally text me. Yesterday. Over a week after I had text him. However this text was different. He started it in the same usual way by being all like hey sorry i didnt get back to you... and then he asked me for a favour. And I thought. This is the only reason he has text me. He isnt sorry that he didnt text me back, he just used it as a conversation starter.

And now I have decided... deffinatly time to STOP thinking about him and MOVE ON.
Anyway, In other news this week has been good because the gym opened last friday and I have been 4 times in the last week. I am really enjoying it. And bonus is I lost 4lb this week when I went to Slimming world. :) I really think that going to the gym has helped me focus on eating healthy. Mum and Dad are away next week so its just me and my brother. Its going to be a test to make sure I can stay focussed both food wise and exercise wise. I have a spin class booked for Tuesday which I am both looking forward to and apprehensive about so I shall let you know how that goes. (If I am still alive after it :P)
