So on Saturday me and mum nipped into town for a mooch and to spend our no7 vouchers which ran out this weekend. I know since I am doing this on my phone the picture will come up at the bottom, I apologise but its been a long day and after getting to work at 8 this morning and getting in at 8 this evening I can't find the effort to turn on my laptop.
Actually thinking about it I only spend money in boots! But they have an amazing offer on at the moment with a lot of brands on 3 for 2.
On the 3 for 2 I got Rimmel wake me up foundation (£8.99), Bourgios eye pallet (£7.99 - i think) and i got Lee Stafford blow dry me faster spray (£6.14) - which i have been dying to try for agggggges!
I also got some No7 eye lash curlers which were £2.25 with my £5 off voucher - I read someone's blog post about them and they said they were fab! I also got some Witch Primer - which was half price so i actually brought 2!
I will share with you what i think about some of these products - especially the blow dry me faster spray.
Have you bagged any bargains in the boots 3 for 2 offer???
Tonight me and Matt went to see Avenue Q at our local theatre. Me and Matt are regular theatre goers both here and in London. We picked the tickets up for tonight for just £10 each which was an absolute bargain!!!
For anyone who hasn't seen or knows nothing about Avenue Q it is basically like an adult version of sesamie street. If it is coming to a theatre near you and your not easily offended then I would definitely recommend you go and see it. The pupprt-stry is amazing and the singing is fab!
Also me and mum went to town today so i shall share a haul post with you tomorrow :)
Ok so if you remember a few weeks ago i mentioned that my best friend Matts mum given me a load of beauty goodies in a bag... Make up, nail polishes and other bits.
I thought I would try out one of the nail polishes that I got. Now I have to admit I had never heard of Nocti before but I was drawn in by the lovely colour.
Now I have to say i really love this polish. It says professional laquer on the bottle and it certainly is! It goes on so well and has a silky shine in it too!!! This one is in shade Ketchup :)
Has anyone else tried any of this range???
I did say last month that I would see how this month went to see if I was going to cancel my subscription or not and I have to say I am very impressed with this months box. Although they are not all products that I will personally use, my mum - who I share the box with - will use them :)
So heres what I got this month -
- Molton Brown Shower Gel
- Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream
- YSL forever Serum
- Burberry Lipstick in shade copper
- Narciso Rodriguez perfume
I completely LOVE the Burberry lipstick. It has a lovely moisture texture to it which I like in a lipstick because I think some can be a bit dry. I'll let you know what my mum thinks of the products she is trying...
If you fancy it pop over to youtube and watch my video blog of me opening my box and what I think of the products. :)
Anyway tonight is Guides night and I wanted to share with you the activity I have come up with for the Guides to do tonight. I was in charge tonight of coming up with a crafty thing we could do for mothers day. I wanted something cheap and chearful and so I decided on Bath Bombs!!!
Heres How I made them and what you need :)
- Bicarbonate of Soda/Baking Powder
- Citrus Acid
These are the basic 2 ingredients and then you can pretty much customise how you want with smells and colours. You can use essential oils which are avaliable in pretty much any flavour you would ever want.
I chose to use radox bath muscle soak mainly because it gives both colour and smell for 89p which for a guide activity.
To make the amount you can see in the picture here I used 40g of bicarbonate of soda and 20g of citrus acid. Obviously you can use more if you want bigger bath bombs.
Mix your ingredients all together. I used a jug from the bathroom, I am using plastic bowls tonight with the guides, just so you dont leave a smell on the ones you eat with. Once I mixed these in a bowl I added a tbsp of radox muscle soak powder and then gradually added a tbsp at a time of water. I cant remember how much water I exactly used but it wasnt alot really. Just enough to bind it all together. It may start fizzing a bit but give it a good mix and then mould into balls.
Leave it to dry a bit and it will go hard. Put it in a lovely box and you could give it to your mum for mothers day.
If you want to make quite a few bath bombs in bulk then I would suggest you buy your bicarbonate of soda and citrus acid online. I asked in a couple of supermarkets if they did it in more than 200g and they said had to stop selling it in bulk because people use it to cut drugs with. I had it from this seller on eBay.
So here is what came in my box.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is how .. well .. small everything was.. having only had 2 boxes before this which were packed with products so much that none of them could move you could see the difference as soon as you opened this box.
The products:
- Paul Mitchell Styling Treatment Oil (£25.95) - Without using this product I know that I am going to get absolutely NO use out of it because this is not suited to my hair at all. It makes me wonder why I bothered filling the questionnaire at all... Looking at the other Paul Mitchell products which could have appeared in my Glossy Box any of the others would have been more suited.
- Becca Beach Tint Watermelon (£20) - This one is probably the only one of the items in the Glossy Box that I totally love this month. It says that it a lip and cheek tint but I think I wont be using it on my cheeks as its the wrong shade - I cant use pinky shades on my cheeks (I use bronzer for blusher) - However I totally love it as a lip tint! I dont really like wearing lipstick, I am more of a gloss girl so this one with a bit of colour in, I LOVE! I wouldnt pay the full retail price for it though...
- BM Beauty Pure Mineral Eye Shadow (£7) - Having recently fallen in love with Mineral Foundation/Powder I was quite looking forward to trying this product. The black colour is got isnt one I would have picked myself but I am willing to give it a try.
- Dr Bronners Magic Lavender Hand Sanitiser (£3.99) - I could spell this product as soon as I took the Glossy Box from the outer packaging. There is just something about lavender which reminds me of old ladies.. (sorry stereotype I know)... I tried spraying this on my hands and I loved the idea that it is a spray instead of a gel because you can spray as much or as little as you want. However I really dislike the smell. I think Lavender is one of those smells you just dont want lingering especially on your hands! I definately wont be using this!
- Como Sambhala Invigorate Shower Gel (£20) - Again with the above I TOTALLY dislike this smell!! I like a shower gel thats fruity or girly and this to me isnt anything like this, to me it smells quite masculine (maybe thats just me). Probably wont use.
I am willing to give Glossy box the benefit of the doubt for this month and give them another month to up their game and from what I have so far heard about the March Box - Harrods are designing it - it is set to be good! If not I shall be unsubsribing and looking for another beauty box.
I have done a video / ramble about Glossy box too which is currently taking forever to upload.. I shall share when it is done! :)
Have you had this months Glossy Box?? What did you think???
