Ok girls lets talk foundation. I don't know about anyone else but I seem to be in a constant battle to find the perfect shade of foundation. That was until No7 launched their Match Made Service in 2012 (you can read my review here).
I know a lot of people rave about a lot of the high street brand foundations such as the Rimmel wake me up and match perfection or Bourjois healthy mix and I have dabbled with a couple of these myself but I don't know what it is, no matter how much I swatch them, I can never seem to find the perfect match. My mum is simple to match - 9 times out of 10 she can pick up the lightest shade that a brand does and it will be perfect but I just can't seem to do it!
This is what draws me towards high end foundations, or slightly higher end than normal "high street" brands. I find it easier to find a shade if someone else is matching it for me! Since first experiencing the No7 match made service way back in 2012 I have gone back to them time and time again. I have been matched several times, in both winter and summer and have found the perfect match every time. I also had a similar experience when I was matched at the Benefit counter and the lady took the time to both remove my base make up - which lets face it is crucial if your trying to find the perfect match as what is the point of trying to match on top of what your currently wearing - and then she went on to try a couple of different shades eventually finding the perfect one.
Now for me - I know there are foundations you can pick up on the high street around £7 but when your foundation makes up the base of your face and make up, I honestly don't mind paying a bit more to get the perfect match.
I went over to the No7 counter a couple of weeks ago, drawn in by their new offering of the No7 Stay Perfect Superlight Foundation. I have tried quite a few of the foundations over time, I use the Stay Perfect one for a night out as it has slightly more coverage, I use the powder foundation in the Summer or holiday for minimal coverage. I have also used the Instant Radiance and the Essentially natural ones.
I went to the No7 counter and decided to take a look at their new offerings. Now often I find that super light foundations don't offer a great amount of coverage but I was willing to give it a go.
I got the lady on the counter to use the machine to match my skin again and was given the shade Cool Beige. I swatched on the back of my hand and decided to pick it up - I also picked up one of their primers at the same time to make the most of the buy one get one half price offer.
I have been using this foundation for about 2 weeks now which I know the grand scheme of things is not a long time to get a proper test about a product or not the usual amount of time I would come on here to rave about a product but I am TOTALLY in love with this foundation. I was not sure about the Super Light aspect of this but figured if it did not have a good coverage I would save it for the summer. However I used it on a Sunday for a simple day look and was so impressed with the coverage I wore it for work the next day, then the next day and I haven't used anything else since. Considering this is a super light foundation the coverage is brilliant. The consistency of this foundation reminds me of the Benefit Hello Flawless one which I love. It is very runny and a little bit goes a long way and blends beautifully into the skin.
The Stay Perfect super light foundation is £14.50 and is available from No7 counters now. I can see this foundation being very popular over the spring and summer months.
Have you tried this foundation??

A couple of weeks ago I saw a video online about a new
service which No7 had introduced and apparently had been working on for 3
years! Basically it’s a technique where by the small sensor takes 2 pictures of
your jaw line – one either side – and matches your perfect foundation colour.
Over the last month or so No7 have had an over hall introducing a lot of new
colours into their foundation range and this gadget is designed to help find
the right one for you.
I have used No7 foundations before and have found ones that
I really liked however more recently I got drawn in by the Rimmel wake me up
foundation which I liked the feel and consistency of. I used a whole bottle of the Rimmel but the
second time I purchased it I ended up with a different shade which was too
light so when I saw this No7 gismo I jumped at the chance to get matched
properly.
Now it wasn’t that I was sceptical about the match service,
Ok maybe a little bit. I went to one of my local boots stores a few weeks ago
to see if they did it. Now when I spoke to the lady on the counter, she wasn’t
really sure what she was doing (she was from the perfume counter not the No7
counter) but gave it a go. She put the machine on my face – with the makeup I
already had on (I was wearing No7 BB cream) and told me I was Cool Beige.
Something in the back of my mind told me to take a tester pot of the colour –
regardless of the fact I was desperate for a foundation. I took it home and
tried it and the colour seemed to be ok, not perfect but similar shade.
On Saturday me and mum went into the bigger town where we live which has slightly larger Boots. I went in with the intention of buying the colour that had already been suggested and that I had tested, since it seemed ok. When I was hovering the lady asked me if I was ok and she asked if I was interested in having the foundation testing service done so I thought – why not.

This time the lady sat me down onto one the makeup stools
asked me what my skin type was. She then used a toner (for normal/dry skin) to
remove the BB Cream which I was again wearing and then used the machine. This
time it came out as a Cool Ivory. Then she moisturised (again normal/dry) and
primed my face, put the foundation on in the correct colour and then put my
blusher and bronzer back on too! The colour was a perfect match. It had a great
coverage but you could barely tell I was wearing any foundation!
I took advance of the 3 for 2 offer which No7 currently had
on and got the moisturiser and toner which she used as I haven’t really been
happy with my moisturiser recently. Also because I spent so much you get a
voucher for £5 off skincare and £3 off makeup which you can use on your next
purchase so I will have some fun using those too :)
Have you tried the new colour match service from No7???
Impressed or not?
