Ok so I can't lie.. as years go 2016 has got to be up there at the top! In fact.. looking back at the photos I couldn't quite remember all the epic times this year has held! I think we could pretty much sum up this year as the year of the hen nights.. weddings and holidays! Prepare yourselves.. this post is going to be pretty photo heavy.. sit back.. grab a brew and enjoy..
Its weird.. this seems like such a longtime ago now! I almost forgot that we did this but in January we went back to the Harry Potter Studio tour where we got engaged. I brought Adam the tickets for Christmas last year as I thought it would be nice for us to go back and for him to enjoy the tour without him being nervous about the ring in his pocket. We had such a lovely time and it will always be a special place. It was great to go back as we got to see Hogwarts in the snow and also the Hogwarts express which wasn't there the last time we went.
Another Christmas present.. this time from Adams mum and dad... we went to Manchester to see the Strictly come dancing tour. As someone who has watched the show since it began it was amazing to see it in real life. Especially as we has amazing seats where the dancers actually came right in front of us.
April was the month of the hen do's - well 2 of them. The 2 photos on the top are from my 1950s hen party up in Sheffield where we had Cocktail making and a Salsa lesson and the one in the bottom is from a night out I had at a local hotel who hosted a charity wedding night where we went with the girls I work with. Both epic nights.
In May we jetted off for an all expenses paid 5* holiday to Mexico which Adam had worked very hard to win at work! I was unbelievably proud of him that he did this and we had an amazing week. We went snorkelling in the ocean, had many a party and spent the week by the most amazing beach! Defiantly what we needed pre wedding!
Another amazing month with amazing adventures! In September we went on our Honeymoon adventure. As we had done the whole 5 * holiday in May we decided that we wanted to do something different for our honeymoon so we booked 2 InterRail passes and off to Europe we went! 14 days of London, Paris, Venice, Florence, Pisa and Rome! It was the most brilliant adventure and we have so many beautiful memories.

The end of May marked the first of the 3 weddings we had his year when my cousin and his fiancé got married. It was such a beautiful day and got us all excited for our wedding!
June
June.. what a perfect month! I can't believe its been 6 months since this happened. The day was absolutely perfect. The photos are amazing and everything just felt so good.
August
August
The last of the years wedding came in August when my little brother married his girlfriend of 12 years - its about time we were all saying! They met at school and have been together ever since. It was so special to be part of their day!
September
Also in September I graduated from the course I had spent 12 months completing. I now have a post graduate certificate in Health Care Leadership which I feel really proud that I was able to complete while working full time and planning a wedding!
The end of the year has sort of flown by! I can't believe tomorrow will be New Years Eve! It doesn't seem 5 minutes ago since we were jumping up and down last year going OMG we are getting married this year!!!
What have been your highlights of 2016??
♥
Christmas for me has always been about family. I absolutely love this time of year. Over the years we have had many traditions which we have followed since we were children, most of which have continued even now we are grown up and me and my brother are both married.
2016 marked our 3 christmas as a couple but our first one as Mr and Mrs so was even more special. Things this year were a little different for us as a family. Some of the traditions we were not able to do (like breakfast the week before christmas) purely for logistical reasons. As many of you know my Grandad hasn't been well for most of the last 12 months and although at home he needs a lot of extra care which means other things have had to slip too. We still had a lovely time it was just very different.
I was well and truly spoilt by my lovely husband who got me an Apple Watch! I have been eyeing these up for ages and he treated himself to the Samsung one in September! I am loving playing with the features and can't wait to get using it properly.
It was our turn to cook christmas dinner this year (we take it in turns with mum and dad and alternate) which was as yummy as always. I have realised this year how much i need to up my christmas game though and will be making notes to do so next year!

Back to reality today and back to work! The 4 days off has been lovely. Looking forward to another long weekend up in Sheffield with Adams family. We are off to the Panto on Saturday which I am excited about along with our nephew then we are having a few days up there making the most of the long weekend.
Hope you have all had a lovely christmas and whatever your plans for the year are you are looking forward to them.

Handy when you have only 1 socket in a hotel room!

To kick off the christmassy posts for this year I thought what better than to share with you a christmas tag I saw. Perfect to get you all in the christmas spirit.
Favourite Festive Food
I love Christmas Food. Christmas Dinner is my absolute fave as is a good old homemade trifle (which I don't suppose is strictly christmas but always what we have Christmas night
Favourite Reindeer
Its got to be Rudolph. However if you have seen Santa Claus 2 I totally love Comet!
Favourite Day of Christmas
Obviously Christmas Day is awesome but I LOVE christmas eve. Tradition is we go to the Crib Service at Church at 4.30 (which is normally standing room only) and then have meat and potato pie for tea then go to Midnight Mass at 11.30pm. There is something SO special about Christmas eve that I just love, especially welcoming in Christmas at Church.
Favourite Christmas Song
In terms of Carols I love Silent Night and Oh Holy Night. In terms of normally songs it has to be the Fairytale of New York.
Favourite Christmas Present
Nows thats a hard one. I am always so grateful for any presents I receive.
Favourite Festive Film
There are Soooooooo many! I think my Number 1 has to be Miracle on 34th Street followed by Elf. We always have to watch Muppets Christmas Carol and other notable mentions for Nativity, the Santa Claus and Love Actually.
Favourite Cracker Toy
Got to be the fortune telling fish!
Favourite Cracker Joke
Totally gonna be that person now and say that cracker jokes are just too cheesy for me!!!
Favourite Christmas Decoration
When I lived at home my mum had some decorations on her tree which just reminded me so much of my childhood. One was a little white guy with a tree (who I named Geoffrey when I was little and it stuck)
Favourite Christmas Scent
Yankee do some amazing christmas scents! Christmas Cookie, Snow Flake Cookie, Christmas Memories. A particular favourite this year has been a Gingerbread Candle I picked up from Home Bargains for about £2.50
Favoutite TV Ad
Got to be the Coca Cola Truck Ad
Favourite Tradition
I am an absolute sucker for christmas tradition and I love that me and Adam have started to develop our own. I did a post way back in December 2013 about my favourite christmas traditions HERE - most of which are still standing now.
Favourite Place to spent Christmas
At Home <3
Favourite Christmas Fact
Right, I'm not going to lie and tell you I am full of Christmas knowledge... I googled... I wouldn't say I found a favourite fact on my quest however one which really confused me was that How The Grinch Stole Christmas is the highest grossing Christmas Film of all time. Now I have seen the Grinch. I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. I wouldn't put it up there in my top 5.
Favourite Snowman Accessory
Its definitely got to be the carrot nose!
I hope you enjoyed this post. Just a bit of fun for you all.
♥
If you had come into my kitchen last night you would have been pretty convinced you had stepped into the Bake Off tent! Honestly it was like a serious production line of gingerbready goodness!!! I wasn't just cracking out 100s of little christmas gingerbread trees for no reason, we have a fundraiser for Rainbows and Guides tonight and a bit of festive gingerbread always goes down well. Ignore the fact that the sign says stars, this was my intention until I saw the tree!!
Recipe:
- 2tsp Ginger
- 60g Brown sugar
- 75g Butter
- 175g Plain Flour
- 3 1/2 tbsp of Golden Syrup
Add the Butter, Sugar and Golden Syrup into a pan and cook until they are melted. In a mixing bowl add the flour and ginger. Add the warm mixture and stir together. Once in a ball, wrap in cling film and leave to cool for 30 minutes (I popped mine in the fridge). After 30 minutes roll out to about the £1 coin size. Use your chosen cutter.
Pop into the oven for between 10 - 15 minutes (depending on the size) - take out and leave to cool. They will go hard while they are cooling so don't worry if they are still a little soft when you take them out of the oven. Add some icing to jazz them up a bit and serve!
Hope you enjoyed this little recipe. As I find some I will be sharing some more christmassy recipes in the lead up to the festive period!

Hello my lovelies!
I hope that you are all doing well. I can not believe that 2 months has passed since I sat and put finger to keyboard to chat to you all. This year is absolutely flying by, I can not believe that we are almost in December... It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since we sat playing pie face on New Year's Eve and here we are, nearly time for the festivities to begin again.
To be honest I think the break away from blogging has done me good. Life has been hectic as ever and I think with everything that has happened over the last 12 months... Grandad being really ill, planning a wedding, getting married, planning a honeymoon, my brother getting married, going on honeymoon it's just been too much and something had to give. To be honest, I posted a while back to say I was at a point with my blog that I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do any more or where I wanted to take it. However, I think the break has done me good. I have actually found myself over the last few weeks thinking about blogging, content and the like. I've not dipped out of the world all together - I've been over on Instagram so if you follow me on there (@mybeautifulforever) you will have seen what I have been up to (and what I've been eating haha).
So.. The last couple of months..
Well I had my graduation for my post grad course I was completing for the last year. I now hold a post graduate certificate in health care leadership. The graduation was very different and low key to what I have been used to but it was good that Adam got to see me graduate - especially with all the hard work I had to put in doing it and planning a wedding too!
To be honest, that is about it... I wish I has lots of exciting news to share... I'm getting my butt organised and will be back - regularly! I am in the process of working out how often and when I am going to post but I will let you know as soon as I decide - I am thinking Monday, Wedneday, Friday with maybe a bonus weekend on either day...
Thanks for sticking around... I hope we can continue to grow this little community and gain some new friends along the way too! Take care xxx

At the end of October, Grandad celebrated his 90th Birthday. The last 12 months have been a really tough time for us as a family, grandad has spent most of it away from home, either in hospital or respite care and was actually in hospital on the day of his birthday, however they did let us bring him out for a little party at home with cake and nibbles. He is back home now which is lovely however we have been hit again with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia which has been really tough but we will pull together as a family as you do in these times.
(Isn't he just the cutest)

Hello my lovelies!
I have returned from my honeymoon / European adventure! If you follow me on Instagram (@mybeautifulforever) you will have seen some snippets of our adventures but its only fair I share with you here too! Don't worry I am not going to spam you all with millions of photos - heres a collage instead :)
London
We started our adventure in London where we spent a lovely couple of days. We saw Wicked, went on the London Eye, walked the streets at dusk, went to St Pauls (where we went to the top - well worth it). We also had the most epic picture taken at platform 9 3/4 (sorry I had to share this one!) I love this so much - it just sums me and Adam up so well!
Paris
After 2 days in London we got the Eurostar over to Paris. We went to Notre Dame, Ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, again walked the streets at dusk (which was amazing as we saw the louvre pyramid lit up), went up the eiffel tower - right to the top, went to the louvre and saw the Mona Lisa.
Venice
After a 14 and a half hour train ride we arrived from Paris to Venice. Lots of people told me how beautiful venice was but walking out of the train station and seeing the Grand Canal was amazing. We visited St Marks Church, got lost in the beautiful streets, went on a gondola and even had a customise your own magnum!
Florence
Ill be honest, neither of us knew what to expect in Florence but it was truly beautiful! We went on a day trip to Pisa, walked the beautiful streets and saw Duomo (the cathedral) and had the best damn full body massage in the hotel EVER!
Rome
Rome marked the last city on our tour! We spent a day at Vatican City, threw coins in the Trevi Fountain, spent a day walking the churches of the path of illumination (from Angels and Demons) - We even got to walk down the secret passage which links the vatican to the castle! We spent one of the days just riding round Rome on the bus seeing all the sites.
It truly was the best honeymoon we could have asked for! We walked 60 miles over the 2 weeks! My poor little fitbit is crying now. I am so glad we chose to do this. I will be doing some individual posts on the places we visited and tips etc so keep your eyes out for those.

1st September! Seriously how on earth did that happen? It only seems like 5 minutes ago since we were bouncing around on New Year's Eve playing pie face 😆
I can not believe after spending so long planning it we go on our honeymoon this weekend. I am beyond excited to visit all the places on our list! Especially because I've never been to any of the places but are places I have always wanted to go to!
Sunday is the start of our adventure (after a couple of days in Sheffield celebrating Adams mum and dads 30th wedding anniversary. I will be be using Instagram during our adventures and hopefully (wifi depending) I will try and do some blogging too! All the hotels we are in have free wifi so I should be able to share our adventures!
Also a little update - I have new hair!! I decided last weekend that I wanted to shake it up a bit and actually had intensions if going back to the red I used to have and picked a Garnier colour called Deep Burgundy however the colour itself has come our purple! On inspection of the box again I noticed the tab on the inside said Blackcurrent Deep Burgundy - sneaky Garnier! Good job I like it!
It's definitely different than I have gone before! It's still at that very dark stage at the moment and looks different shades in different lights - let's see how long it lasts eh! Nice to be a bit darker as the Autumn is coming!

Hello my lovelies! How are we all?
Can you believe we are nearly in September! I cant quite believe how quickly this year is going! Its crazy! Hard to believe at the start of the year we were counting down to 3 weddings and now all 3 of them are over and done with!
My baby brother got married a week and a half ago and it was such a perfect day! The weather was absolutely beautiful. I absolutely loved the colour of the dresses Carrie chose for us to wear.
Just in the final preparations of getting everything sorted for our honeymoon now. We set off next weekend on our little European adventure and I am so excited! Just off to town now for a girly day with mum to pick up everything I need.
Short and sweet with the catch up today! Prepare yourselves for honeymoon posts and travel adventures..

Once again I feel like I am at crossroads with my blog... I've been doing some thinking about what I want my little corner of the Internet to be over the last few weeks while I have been on a break.
When I started my blog 5 years ago next week I wasn't really sure what I wanted out of it. It was a little project for me during a time in my life when I was probably the lowest - I had finished my PGCE with no teaching job to go into and having wanted to be a teacher all my life I was at a serious crossroad. Fast forward 5 years I am now in a job I completely love but never thought I would be doing (not teaching) and have just married the love of my life - a boy I have known and been friends with for 17 years ❤️
As my life has changed so has my blog and actually I really like. I've decided to just go with the flow. I never envisaged this blog falling into a category and I don't want to be one of those people that falls into one style - so I've decided rather than becoming the label of a beauty blog it's going to be a life style blog - about all aspects of my life - sure this will include some beauty - I can't resist a cheeky product review when I love something but I also want to share food, marriage, travel, and the rest of my life too - we have an amazing honeymoon planned for September and then Adam and I are going to look at starting a family.
So take a seat, grab a brew and join me along for the ride.
Hello my lovelies!!!
How are we all?
Its been about 5 weeks since my last post - I have good reason though! We did it! We got married!
Everyone says your wedding day is one of the best days of your life! I honestly still can't believe its over. It was such an amazing day. Everything was perfect. Even the weather, which had been pants all of that week was good.
After the wedding we went down to Caister holiday park in Great Yarmouth which is where Adam and I met 17 years ago. Its weird.. I went to Caister for the last time about 10 years ago with Mum, Dad and my brother. It was probably one of the last holidays the 4 of us went on together before we were all grown up and I remember my dad saying as we drove down Great Yarmouth Sea Front on the way home, look around kids, we probably won't ever come here again. Never in a million years did I think I would be going back to there with my husband!
Not going to lie, I still havent got used to the fact I am someones wife! We have been married 3 weeks now and I still keep going to sign my maiden name! But I suppose when you spend 27 years as one person it takes some getting used to!
This weekend, I decided to have a bit of a change, something I had been toying with for a while. I decided to get my fringe cut into my hair! As I say I have toyed with the idea for a while and I could not be happier now Ive had it done :)

We have booked and sorted our honeymoon. We decided a while a go we wanted to go something different - something we wanted to do but wouldn't be able to do once we had kids. So when we asked friends and family for money for the wedding - we were overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone. We had more than enough money to do what we wanted. So in September, Adam and I will be spending 2 days in London, 3 days in Paris, 2 days in Venice, 2 days in Florence (with a day trip to Pisa) and 3 days in Rome! To say I am excited is an understatement!!!! If you have been to any of these places, tips most welcome! All the hotels and transport are booked and I have booked Wicked Tickets for London and the top of the Eiffel tower for Paris.

Omg omg omg!!! Can you believe our wedding is just 2 weeks away! I can't actually believe how quickly it is all coming around. Its doesn't seem like 5 minutes since I wrote this post.
All the last minute bits are coming together now, my dress fitting (only 1 more to go which is where I pick my dress up!), favours, finalising all the plans! Aghhh! Exciting!
Mexico was absolutely fantastic. Signet really did spoil us! Heres the hotel we stayed in!
On Wednesday we went to my cousins wedding which was amazing. Such a lovely day. It defiantly got us excited for our big day now!
I also found out on Wednesday that I passed my course!!! I am not gonna lie, it was a difficult 12 months but I am so glad I got to the other side. I am very relieved that I passed because I worked myself up to the point where I was sure I had failed! I defiantly think I am done studying for a while now!
So the next couple of weeks are likely to be pretty hectic but I will be sure pop on when I can! :)

Aghh man! Total fail right now! Ive got really organised with blogging since my kick up the butt and planned out and had planned to do a beautiful post for you about what I am taking on holiday to Mexico with me... except FAIL... I havent packed yet!
I am totally not this person! I am normally packed weeks before we go but this time I am so unorganised! We leave for Heathrow on Tuesday where we are staying overnight before our flight and I haven't even touched the case yet!
But I promise if you follow me over on Instagram (@mybeautifulforever) I will be instagramming OOTD's while I am there - hello free wifi!

When we first looked at pricing up the different things for the wedding I knew straight away that I wanted to do my own makeup. I did toy with the idea of getting a make up artist in for the day however when I looked at the prices it wasn't something I felt I wanted to justify.
You all know how much I love makeup and to be honest the idea of researching and shopping for makeup excited me. When I started looking at ideas for wedding makeup, I decided to ask my friends and family for gift vouchers for my birthday in February and decided on Debenhams.
So heres the top tips I picked up on for wedding makeup:

- Avoid SPF - obviously if your getting married outside this is going to be something you want to consider however SPF causes flash back on photographs which causes you to look white washed - not what you want on your wedding day.
- Shop around - I did a lot of research into different products. Most high end beauty counters will offer you a sample of things like Foundation which is great to take away and try at home with any other products you may have.
- Wear White - If you are going to beauty counters to have a trial for ideas, wear a white tshirt. Your going to be wearing white on your big day and it will give you an idea of what its going to look like.
- Go Outside - Again if your having a trial done in a department store go outside and have a wonder around before you commit to anything. Department stores often have florescent lighting which can make your makeup look completely different. Go and have a look in the natural light.
- Dont rush into anything - I have done a lot of research into different looks, different styles, different products. I wanted to look into lots of ideas before I settled on one thing. Don't be afraid to shop around. It would be quite easy to go into a department store and get everything from one stand when actually different brands have different products which work well together.
I will of course share my makeup from the day with you... but no sneak peeks! Sorry Girls!

I have suffered really badly with allergies for years. I have very vivid memories of doing my GCSEs and A Levels in the height of the summer with a pack of tissues firmly strapped to myself at all times. Grim times. If only I could wind the clock back 12 years!
I discovered Bee Pollen last August when Adam and I started a business with Forever Living. The Bee Pollen is one of the best selling products and came in our initial business box.

Bee Pollen has a lot of amazing benefits packed into one tiny little tablet. Not only does it help with allergies, it is also great for the skin, helps promote energy, offers great digestion and is great for those suffering from asthma.
I can not even tell you what a difference just taking one of these little beauties has taken. I started taking 1 tablet a day and since August haven't taken any antihistamine since. On days when the pollen count is high is I take 2 tablets but you can take up the 3.
These are defintly a staple in my handbag forever! I can't believe its taken me this long to find these. I would not be without these. If you want to find out any more about these little beauties or any other products that Forever offer drop me an email on mybeautifulforever@gmail.com

Right ok.. how is it the 1st May already! This year is going wayyyy too fast. I can not believe it. Its weird, everyone said to me that once christmas was over it would go really fast on the countdown to the wedding but naive little me didn't believe that for a second! I thought it would drag but they were right! I can't even believe its 48 days until we get married! 48 days! Thats 6 weeks and 6 days! Aghhh!!!
I'm so excited. Everything is starting to come together now. I have a to do list the size of my arm but I am surprisingly chilled about the whole thing.
Since I finished my course I've been getting round to do a lot of things, including organising my blog. I especially want to start blogging the lead up to the wedding. I've finally (after years of laziness) started to get my skin care in check and have been organising make up. I've been trying new products, rediscovering old ones and I am finally at a point where I have wanted to sit down and actually write about things.
I have also started to discover more about the business. I have loved discovering all about what this business can offer and for someone who loves discovering new products it is perfect! I have been using some of the products on a regular basis now and can really see what an amazing difference they have made! More about that soon.
Its only 17 days until we go to Mexico (still not started packing), we still only know where we are staying and have no idea about flights etc but hopefully we should find that out this week! Not gonna lie its making me twitchy! :)
Anyway, you should start to see me a bit more now! I have things plotted so keep your eyes peeled. Hope you guys are all ok. Fill me in on your gossip.
