We are both massive Harry Potter fans, we are the generation who started reading the books as children and gradually grew up with them.
The Studio tour opened this year allowing fans to gain access to the real life sets where the film had been shot including the great hall, the dormintories, dumbeldores office as well as being able to knock on the door to number 4 Privett drive, hang off the back of the night bus and sit in the Ford Angelia which Harry and Ron crashed into the Whomping Willow in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
The tour itself costs £28 to go into which is more than worth its weight in Gold. We paid an extra £10 to get the souvenir guide and the digital guide which saved us £5.
I would say to you even if a teeny tiny part of you loves Harry Potter then go on this tour. There were people of all ages there and from what I could tell varying levels of Harry Potter love including the hard core fans in the robes and scarves to the family I heard in the shop looking the wands (Kid: Mum whos professor Lupin... Mum: Oh hes that bad guy... Kid: Whos Siruis Black?... Mum: I have no idea) - I mean really!
Walking around the sets was truly amazing.. there is something about knowing you are walking round seeing things that have actually been in the movies! Standing where the actors have stood! Its fab! My favorite part by far was the model of the castle which was used for the exterior shots in the films. You can not truly appreciate how it makes you feel unless you are there... I really could have cried when I saw it. Me and Matt went to Wizarding World of Harry Potter a few years back where they have built the castle as part of the attraction at Universal Islands of Adventure... Its amazing but seeing this model yesterday.. there was just something about it.. something different that took my breath away.
Knocking on the great hall door... Not all that convinced by Butterbeer...
The Mirror or Erised... The model of the castle - amazing!
Have you been to the Harry Potter studio tour? What was your favorite part??
