Ok so I can't lie.. as years go 2016 has got to be up there at the top! In fact.. looking back at the photos I couldn't quite remember all the epic times this year has held! I think we could pretty much sum up this year as the year of the hen nights.. weddings and holidays! Prepare yourselves.. this post is going to be pretty photo heavy.. sit back.. grab a brew and enjoy..
Its weird.. this seems like such a longtime ago now! I almost forgot that we did this but in January we went back to the Harry Potter Studio tour where we got engaged. I brought Adam the tickets for Christmas last year as I thought it would be nice for us to go back and for him to enjoy the tour without him being nervous about the ring in his pocket. We had such a lovely time and it will always be a special place. It was great to go back as we got to see Hogwarts in the snow and also the Hogwarts express which wasn't there the last time we went.
Another Christmas present.. this time from Adams mum and dad... we went to Manchester to see the Strictly come dancing tour. As someone who has watched the show since it began it was amazing to see it in real life. Especially as we has amazing seats where the dancers actually came right in front of us.
April was the month of the hen do's - well 2 of them. The 2 photos on the top are from my 1950s hen party up in Sheffield where we had Cocktail making and a Salsa lesson and the one in the bottom is from a night out I had at a local hotel who hosted a charity wedding night where we went with the girls I work with. Both epic nights.
In May we jetted off for an all expenses paid 5* holiday to Mexico which Adam had worked very hard to win at work! I was unbelievably proud of him that he did this and we had an amazing week. We went snorkelling in the ocean, had many a party and spent the week by the most amazing beach! Defiantly what we needed pre wedding!
Another amazing month with amazing adventures! In September we went on our Honeymoon adventure. As we had done the whole 5 * holiday in May we decided that we wanted to do something different for our honeymoon so we booked 2 InterRail passes and off to Europe we went! 14 days of London, Paris, Venice, Florence, Pisa and Rome! It was the most brilliant adventure and we have so many beautiful memories.

The end of May marked the first of the 3 weddings we had his year when my cousin and his fiancé got married. It was such a beautiful day and got us all excited for our wedding!
June
June.. what a perfect month! I can't believe its been 6 months since this happened. The day was absolutely perfect. The photos are amazing and everything just felt so good.
August
August
The last of the years wedding came in August when my little brother married his girlfriend of 12 years - its about time we were all saying! They met at school and have been together ever since. It was so special to be part of their day!
September
Also in September I graduated from the course I had spent 12 months completing. I now have a post graduate certificate in Health Care Leadership which I feel really proud that I was able to complete while working full time and planning a wedding!
The end of the year has sort of flown by! I can't believe tomorrow will be New Years Eve! It doesn't seem 5 minutes ago since we were jumping up and down last year going OMG we are getting married this year!!!
What have been your highlights of 2016??
♥
Christmas for me has always been about family. I absolutely love this time of year. Over the years we have had many traditions which we have followed since we were children, most of which have continued even now we are grown up and me and my brother are both married.
2016 marked our 3 christmas as a couple but our first one as Mr and Mrs so was even more special. Things this year were a little different for us as a family. Some of the traditions we were not able to do (like breakfast the week before christmas) purely for logistical reasons. As many of you know my Grandad hasn't been well for most of the last 12 months and although at home he needs a lot of extra care which means other things have had to slip too. We still had a lovely time it was just very different.
I was well and truly spoilt by my lovely husband who got me an Apple Watch! I have been eyeing these up for ages and he treated himself to the Samsung one in September! I am loving playing with the features and can't wait to get using it properly.
It was our turn to cook christmas dinner this year (we take it in turns with mum and dad and alternate) which was as yummy as always. I have realised this year how much i need to up my christmas game though and will be making notes to do so next year!

Back to reality today and back to work! The 4 days off has been lovely. Looking forward to another long weekend up in Sheffield with Adams family. We are off to the Panto on Saturday which I am excited about along with our nephew then we are having a few days up there making the most of the long weekend.
Hope you have all had a lovely christmas and whatever your plans for the year are you are looking forward to them.

To kick off the christmassy posts for this year I thought what better than to share with you a christmas tag I saw. Perfect to get you all in the christmas spirit.
Favourite Festive Food
I love Christmas Food. Christmas Dinner is my absolute fave as is a good old homemade trifle (which I don't suppose is strictly christmas but always what we have Christmas night
Favourite Reindeer
Its got to be Rudolph. However if you have seen Santa Claus 2 I totally love Comet!
Favourite Day of Christmas
Obviously Christmas Day is awesome but I LOVE christmas eve. Tradition is we go to the Crib Service at Church at 4.30 (which is normally standing room only) and then have meat and potato pie for tea then go to Midnight Mass at 11.30pm. There is something SO special about Christmas eve that I just love, especially welcoming in Christmas at Church.
Favourite Christmas Song
In terms of Carols I love Silent Night and Oh Holy Night. In terms of normally songs it has to be the Fairytale of New York.
Favourite Christmas Present
Nows thats a hard one. I am always so grateful for any presents I receive.
Favourite Festive Film
There are Soooooooo many! I think my Number 1 has to be Miracle on 34th Street followed by Elf. We always have to watch Muppets Christmas Carol and other notable mentions for Nativity, the Santa Claus and Love Actually.
Favourite Cracker Toy
Got to be the fortune telling fish!
Favourite Cracker Joke
Totally gonna be that person now and say that cracker jokes are just too cheesy for me!!!
Favourite Christmas Decoration
When I lived at home my mum had some decorations on her tree which just reminded me so much of my childhood. One was a little white guy with a tree (who I named Geoffrey when I was little and it stuck)
Favourite Christmas Scent
Yankee do some amazing christmas scents! Christmas Cookie, Snow Flake Cookie, Christmas Memories. A particular favourite this year has been a Gingerbread Candle I picked up from Home Bargains for about £2.50
Favoutite TV Ad
Got to be the Coca Cola Truck Ad
Favourite Tradition
I am an absolute sucker for christmas tradition and I love that me and Adam have started to develop our own. I did a post way back in December 2013 about my favourite christmas traditions HERE - most of which are still standing now.
Favourite Place to spent Christmas
At Home <3
Favourite Christmas Fact
Right, I'm not going to lie and tell you I am full of Christmas knowledge... I googled... I wouldn't say I found a favourite fact on my quest however one which really confused me was that How The Grinch Stole Christmas is the highest grossing Christmas Film of all time. Now I have seen the Grinch. I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. I wouldn't put it up there in my top 5.
Favourite Snowman Accessory
Its definitely got to be the carrot nose!
I hope you enjoyed this post. Just a bit of fun for you all.
