I mentioned briefly in my last couple of posts that me and Adam completed the Clean 9. Me and Adam started our business with Forever Living last year and straight away we both wanted to complete the Clean 9 so we both decided along with one of my friends at work that we would start on the 4th January - the 1st Monday of the new year.
For those of you who don't know, the Clean 9 is a 9 day detox. The first 2 days of the detox are the most difficult but actually were not as hard as I thought they were going to be.
On days 1 and 2 you don't eat anything. There are special tablets you take (one to speed your metabolism) and you can have a shake for your lunch and you have to drink a heck of a lot of the Aloe Vera Gel (seen in the yellow bottle above) which is an acquired taste - you either love it or hate it - it completely didn't bother me as I was already taking the gel for my IBS.
On days 3 - 9 you can have a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch and a 600 calorie meal for evening meal (which surprisingly goes a long way). The beauty is there is a free food list you can snack from too (fruits and veg's)
Overall on the 9 day detox I lost a total of 10 pounds but even more impressively I lost 28 inches! Adam lost 1 stone 2 pounds - not sure about his inches.
Not only did we loose the weight and inches we also learnt so much about our eating habits. Adam is a big snacker and often leads me astray and I snack quite a bit when I am sat at work. We also noticed that we were seriously over eating as like I say, 600 calories goes a long way. We brought this Hairy Bikers book which has loads of meal ideas in it and they often share 4 however previously Adam and I had been eating such meals between 2 of us. Needless to say our freezer is well stocked up with meals too now.
I have to say it was defiantly worth doing and I would seriously consider doing it again.
