I mentioned here in my write up about the Midlands Blogger Meet up, that Suzie at Xenca had been lovely enough to give us the option of choosing one of their make up products to bring home with us. I was very torn between a red lipstick or an eyeshadow but as soon as I saw the eyeshadow choices and in particularly the one I went with, Cappuccino, my choice was made instantly.
As you can see the Xenca eye shadows come with 2 colours. It retails on the website here for £11.95. I decided on this one because I instantly felt that out of them, this would be the most wearable shadow and would be a great every day shadow particularly for work.

I am hopeless at trying to take photos so I apologise for the awful photo but you get the general idea. The peach colour is very light and glimmery without being glittery (if that makes sense) and the brown that comes with it is great for adding a bit of contour in the crease.
I really love this eyeshadow! If I didn't own more eye shadows that Boots, I would be tempted to add some of the others to my collection but I think for the moment I will stick with the one I am loving.
Have you tried any of the Xenca eye shadow or beauty products??
A couple of weeks ago the gorgeous Essie Button blogged this blog post about a new navy blue eye liner she was trying.
If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me posting this photo.
After seeing Essies post, while perusing the magazines in WHSmiths at work, I noticed that Glamour magazine were giving away an Eyeko eyeliner in no less than Navy, and not only that but the magazine was online £1! I ran to the till (ok not really) and couldn't wait to try it out! As you can see the result is above!
I have heard fantastic things about Eyeko eyeliners in the past and having never tried one before I was egar to see how it measured up against the others I had tried, in particular the Soap and Glory Supercat liner.
I really love the nib on this liner. As you can see it is very thin which I love as it means you can make the line as thin or as thick as you want. It is also easy to hold which I know sounds weird but I sometimes find that these pencil liquid liners can be hard to hold depending on the thickness of the actually pen.
I can't actually find this online. It looks like the Eyeko Skinny in Black is £15 so I don't know if they haven't got it online yet or if this is a Glamour magazine exclusive. Either way it may be worth nipping to your nearest Glamour stockist and picking up a copy before they run out. I am half tempted for £1 to go and get another one to keep for when this one runs out.
Not only has Essie jumped on the Blue Liner band wagon, the lovely Anna at Vivianna does Make up has done a post here so it seems like maybe the blue liner could be a new thing???
What do you think? Something you fancy trying or are you happy with black liner??

Last month when I headed off to the Midlands Blogger Meet up in Birmingham, a few of us got chatting about blogging and the general blogasphere. It all started because a couple of people said that in their Mid to late 20's they feel quite old in the blogging market.
Now I, like I think most people do, read a lot of blogs written by people my age but on occasions I have come across other blogs, some by bloggers who are a lot younger. Obviously blogging has grown quite a lot over recent years and now there are people of all ages doing it. We got to chatting about age and bloggers and in particular the younger bloggers out there. Now when I say younger bloggers I am talking those in the range of about 13-16.
We all agreed that although obviously there is market for younger bloggers out there, some of the blogs you come across are, for one to a better word, absolutely ridiculous. Sure we all like to do little bits on products we love or have brought, but as a mid 20 something blogger (and I wasn't alone in this) who sees high end products as a luxury, it is absolutely shocking to come across bloggers at the age of 13 or 14 flashing Mac... YSL.. Chanel.
We all said, cast your mind back to that age, I felt the highlight of my beauty days was when I got to buy something from Natural Collection, Collection 2000 or No. 17 (or Seventeen as it is now).
So what happened. Its only *cough* 10 *cough* years ago since high street brands were the norm for teens. I mean as a teen you go to town with your friends, raid the counters of Boots or Superdrugs with your pocket money and come away feeling like you have had a real treat. So what happened? When did it become acceptable for the young girls of today to be thinking the norm is to go out and spend £50 at the Mac counter. Man you could but one of everything from the MUA stand for that!!!
There is such a lot of pressure on the girls of today. They have to have the best clothes, the latest fashions, the most up to date hair, phone, shoes... who is to blame though? Is it just how the world is evolving or it is the magazines, the media, the way that girls can spend hours online reading about fashions, make up trends...
Whats your opinion on this?? Do you think that it is just the way youth of today is growing up too fast or is it the media pressuring young girls into what they think they need...

You can't fail to notice that the World Cup is well and truly in full swing and now that England have been knocked out we all need something to compensate with right???
Now Ive admitted, Im not a massive football fan, I'll be patriotic and watch the England games but thats about as far as it goes. And lets be honest there is something about sitting around together watching the football, complete with beverage of choice in one hand and a few nibbles in the other.

Step in the lovely people at Swizzels Matlow who contacted me to tell me about their special Football Fever selection pack of sweets that have been released help celebrate the world cup! They contain all the classic favourites; Fruity Pops, Refreshers, Special Football themed love hearts and my personal favourite, drumsticks! What is it about a Drumstick Lolly! Cant beat it!
I decided it was only right having been sent these lovely to display them cutely in my living room so I put them in this lovely little pot which is actually a pestle and mortar that I picked up while I was in Ibiza but ya know!
Not only were the lovely people at Swizzels Matlow send me these they have also been lovely enough to offer one of you lovelies a chance to win one of the Football Fever packs of your very own!
One day a few months ago was a very sad day... the day my beloved GHDs went off to live in straightener heaven. Now I am not going to lie, the minute I first purchased my GHDs back in 2009, I hadn't looked back. I had heard such fantastic reviews about GHDs and they defiantly lived up to my expectations.
Anyway I pondered for ages about getting a new set. Did I repurchase my beloved GHDs again or did I go a different way. Anyway when I went for the chop and my lovely hairdressers just before I went away and I was chatting to my lovely hair dresser Beth. As we chatted one of the reps came in for the brand of straighteners that the salon uses; Cloud 9. They were returning Beth's straighteners to her that had been away for repair. As we got chatting I was drawn in by them.
The cloud 9's are a sleek design similar to that of the GHD. However one major feature which I absolutely LOVE about these straighteners is that they have NO buttons what so ever!
These are the Cloud 9 Touch as the name suggests works purely on touch sensors. You plug the straighteners on and you click the plates together to turn them on. To turn them down you need to tap the plates together twice and it will alter to the straighteners lower heat setting of 165. After 30 seconds of not being used the straighteners turn themselves off.
The straightens themselves retail at £99 and are available online and in stockists. Its defiantly worth checking out your local retailers because I got a really good deal with mine. As well as the straighteners for £99, I got a Travel sides curling Iron which I can not find the price of online and a bottle of their magical potion which retails at £17.95 and is available online here.
Overall I can't even begin to tell you how much I am in love with these Cloud 9's! It is defiantly worth checking out different brands which are available because it may be that you find a better deal.
Have you tried these straighteners?? What do you think???

I don't know about you but I LOVE mooching at what other people buy for their houses so I thought I would do a few posts about some of the bits we have brought for the house. I have loved buying bits or the house. I admire posts on Pinterest or videos on Youtube of peoples homes so I couldn't wait to start collecting our out bits!
One thing I was most excited about was setting up a dressing table area where I could put my make up. I had seen a couple of really nice dressing tables I wanted to get but instead I decided to go for a more practical approach.
Rather than buying a dressing table, I decided to set up my dressing table area on top of my chest of drawers - These are the Malm 3 drawers from Ikea and were a bargain at £35!
I knew I wanted to have some drawers on the dressing table and I lusted after the Muji ones but at £25 I couldn't justify it! I spotted these drawers in a local vintage warehouse near where I live and at £7 I just couldn't leave them behind.
The lamp is from Argos and is more of a practical use than anything (have you ever tried running across the bedroom in the dark).
When I was in Birmingham for the Midlands Blogger Meet up a few weeks ago, I couldn't resist just nipping into Muji and having a look. I am so glad I did now as I found a couple of things that were perfect for my new dressing table. I spotted this PP storage, I can't find it on the website and I can't remember how much it was but it was around £2-3. It has 6 compartments on it and it is perfect for storing make up brushes.
While looking at the PP storage I spotted these little beauties. I was a little twitched by how messy my eye liners, mascaras and lipsticks were looking
The smaller ones on the right were £1.95 and are available here and the larger one was £2.25 and is available here
Since I took the top picture I have also brought a large mirror as you just can't do your make up the same in a small mirror!
I am really loving this little set up! As you can see I have a lot of beauty products that I need to get through :)
Better get tasting and reviewing!

This week I was tagged by the lovely blogger and fellow Make up Mafia member Sarah from Seriously Shallow to do the Would you Rather - the beauty edition. Ive seen posts like this knocking around and this one seemed quite fun so I figured i would give it a go!
Would you rather lose all of you mascara, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip gloss or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
Ah man that is a totally hard one because I am SO in love with my Mac Pro Palette and my Naked Palettes - particular No's 1 & 3 but I would probably have to ditch them given the choice. Lets face it some eyeliners if you smudge them out could work as an eye shadow and I don't think I could go without Mascara. I have recently started to get into Lipstick more - especially now the beauty brands have developed the formulas which don't make you feel like you mouth has been in the Sahara for a week! Lip Gloss I can take or leave - I am totally over the whole hair sticking to your lips until someone can invent a non sticky one!
Would you rather cut all your hair off or never be able to cut it again?
Im going to say that I would rather cut it all off - having said that though I have done the short haired look (trust me it was bad and I spend years regretting having it cut so short - we are talking pixie cut/shorter). The trouble with my hair is, it is so thick and when left to its own devices is curly. If it goes past my shoulders it starts to go all kinds of crazy so I tend to stick to a bob type style but I hate to think what it would be like if I could never cut it again!
Would you rather have coral cheeks or pink cheeks?
Coral is a winner for me every time. I tend to stick to coral type colours because they suit my olive skin colour better. I often struggle to find a proper pink that looks good on me.
If you had £1000 would you rather buy clothes or make up?
Oooo thats a hard one... I think I would probably spend £500 on each! I love both :)
Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
What the? I think i would probably say eyeliner as lipstick...
Would you rather only shop in MAC or Sephora?
Well I've never shopped in Sephora before but from what I have read you can get lots of brands in Sephora so probably that.
Would you rather use one eyeshadow colour or one lipstick colour for the rest of your life?
Probably one lipstick, I have loads of lipsticks in my draw but I never really move away from my Revlon Chubby Pencil which takes up permanent residence in my handbag.
Would you rather wear Winter clothes in Summer or Summer clothes in Winter?
I don't like wearing lots of clothes - ok that came out wrong - I mean I hate over complicated. I hate long sleeves on anything and 9 times out of 10 if something has long sleeves I push it up to my elbow.
Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Again like I say I tend to stick to one lip product but I could give it up.
Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?
I long for Zoella's Messy bun but my hair is not long enough for either a pony or messy bun. Id deffo choose a messy bun look though.
Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipstick?
OMG I can't even think about never being able to paint my nails again! My nails are like my thing!
Would you rather shave your eyebrows off or have non at all and fill them in everyday?
Id rather shave them off tbh! I tend to be rocking a full fringe anyway and you can rarely see my eyebrows anyway.
Would you rather live without make up or nail polish?
Now I know what I just said, but I don't think I could go without make up (without fear of scaring folks).
And there you go thats the beauty edition of would you rather! If you feel like doing this tag then I tag everyone!!! If you do it then leave it in the comments below and I'll have a read!!!

Good evening, wow its not very often you here me say that is it! But here I am sat here on a Friday night in bed, I have officially become a world cup widow!
Now its not that I hate football, but the idea of sitting through every single match for the next 3 weeks is not something that appeals at all! Sure I'll be patriotic and watch the England Matches (as long as they don't interfere with my sleep) but that about stretches me to my limits!
So my lovelies! I think the next 3 weeks is going to get us well and truly aquatinted again as I fear I may be going rather a lot of what I am now, sitting on the bed with the door closed, laptop on knee.
So how are we all? I feel a little out of touch with this! I don't feel like I have blogged properly for SO long! What with everything that has happened over the past few months! I love this little space on the internet that is mine though and I am going to start showing it some serious love and attention that has been lacking recently!
Let me know what you want to see. I have a couple of posts lined up for you, including a sneaky peek at certain parts of our new house - I want to start doing a few different kinds of posts too, some homey posts, things like that so I hope that is something you will all enjoy! Any more ideas then feel free to leave them in the comments box :)

You may remember back in February when I hot footed off on
the train to Nottingham for my first ever blogger meet up organised by the
lovely Kelly and Emma - You can read all about it here.
When I found out the girls had decided to organise another event, this time in
Birmingham I was straight there putting my name on the list.
The girls chose the fantastic venue of Cherry Reds tucked
away just around the corner from both the New Street Station and the Mail Box.
This time we took up one of the venues function rooms on the first floor which
was fab as I felt like you could really sit and chat to people without the
worry of other people noseying in (what is it about a group of people getting together
that makes people do that?? Although hands up I am the same!) The venue itself
was lovely. Not the sort of place you would normally stumble on, on a trip to
Birmingham because its tucked away from the main shopping are but still close
enough to go to.
We had 2 talks lined up for us. Jo from Weleda came and
spoke to use about the company, their products and we got to have a play, smell
and try of their products. There were defiantly a couple of products which
caught my attention. What I liked about Weleda is the brand focuses on the
green aspect of beauty and is one of the largest companies to focus on all
things natural, organic, eco-friendly and fair trade. We were given a goody bag
including a couple of samples of their products to try.
After we had all had a drink, chat and food, the lovely
Suzie from Xenca told us all about her brand. Now I will hold my hands up and
admit that before the event Xenca is not a brand I have heard of. I will admit
that I am one of these beauty people who knows what they like and likes to use
brands that have been around forever. I think I would like to start being more
adventurous and start using new brands. Suzie told us in comparison to Weleda
which is similar in its ethics, Xenca has only been around for a few years. As
we listened to Suzie’s talk it was certainly a brand which caught my attention.
Xenca has a wide range of products available including skincare, beauty and
also their range of “healthcare” products. Suzie again let us play with all of
the products and let us try some of the health products including the cologen
powders designed to replenish the cologen your body naturally loses as you get
older and the 5 day + powder which contains the equivalent of your 5 fruit and
veg a day. At the end of her talk offered us the chance to have either a free
lipstick or eye shadow. After swatching all like mad I chose the eye shadow in
the shade cappuccino which I thought would be perfect for work! (You can see it in the below picture in the top left)
Overall the event was a fantastic well organised (again) day! It was so lovely to meet some of the bloggers who had been at the last event as well as some new bloggers! I really can't tell you how nice it is to sit and talk to like minded people! We couldn't resist a cheeky snap of us all at the end of the day (minus leah who had to go to get her train) - I'll leave links for all the girls below so make sure you go and check them all out!!!
Left to right:
Emma: Frugally Peachy
Caroline: Putting your life in order
Sarah: Seriously Shallow
Kerry: Kerry Just Beauty
Kelly: To Become Mum
Laura: Life and Lipstick
Naomi: Style Face Beauty
The lovely Suzie is on the end from Xenca and heres a link to Leah (Peaches and Smoke)who isn't in the picture.
Hopefully it won't be too long before the girls decide they will organise another one :)
