One thing I knew that I wanted to buy this year when we started looking at buying christmas items was an advent calendar. Now i am not talking a cheap chocolate one I mean a proper one. When we spent date night a couple of weeks ago at Trentham we went to the garden centre and they had the advent calendars half price.
My mum has always said that she wishes she had brought one of these when me and my brother were small so I said to Adam we could get one now and then we have it when we have babies in the future.
I loved the mix of the colours and the nativity on this one. When we went shopping Adam and I picked which sweets we wanted to add and I also went through and added some special treats for us along the way including things such as make gingerbread together, get a drive through Starbucks, watching our favourite christmas movies (Muppets, Elf)...
I am really loving this and love the idea of adding our own bits into it!
Do you have an advent calendar. How do you put in?

Last night I got myself dolled up and headed out for my works Christmas party! Up until yesterday afternoon I had NO idea what to wear. I went to town with mum yesterday and after going round a couple of shops which I was disappointed with (whats with the lack of sparkle this year), I headed into New Look.
So this is totally not the normal thing I would go for but I am totally in love with this Jump Suit! The Belt is one I added from Primark and I added a cardi mainly because it was bloody cold yesterday! Since it was all black I decided to add a statement necklace again from Primark. Teamed with my trusty red heels this was the perfect party outfit!
Stay tuned for a break down of what I wore make up wise too :)

Christmas is a time for giving and enjoying the time spent with family and friends. When me and Adam first started talking about Christmas (way back in October) and we decided with this being our first one, we wanted to make it really special.
When we looking into decorations we found some lovely ones about but when we thought about it, we didn't want to spend a stupid amount of money on decorations and bits!
Step in Wilkos! - First of all excuse the crappy iPhone photos!
The aisles of my local wilkos is brimming with gorgeous christmas goodies! Their bauble packs are AMAZING! I picked up a couple of the packs of 50 baubles for £5 which have a variety of sizes and colours. The baubles in the top picture are £1.50 and they have some lovely decorations for £1.
Also as well as decorations they have some fantastic table decorations.
I picked up these purple table runners currently £4 and the silver charger plates for £1. I really love this! In fact I really want to leave it there all year!!!
If your in the market for some new plates and dish ware they have some great deals. I brought a 12 pack in purple for £12 which are beautiful!
Have you shopped in Wilko's this year?? Are you impressed by their offerings?

Can you believe the first week of December is nearly over? I thought I would take the opportunity at the end of what I feel like has been a mental week with a nice mug of orange hot chocolate!
I feel like this week has been mental, works been really life in general has been busy... In fact when I look forward to the next few weeks I have lots of busy things planned!!!
Tomorrow is the christmas party at work (and I still haven't got an outfit sorted yet!!) but Im looking forward to a pampering and getting my hair and nails done. Also this week Adams mum and dad are coming to visit before they yet off to Tenefire for a week.
I also need to get my butt in gear and get some christmas shopping done. The only thing I have got sorted so far is my brother and his fiancé and a couple of things for Adam! I don't know why but I feel really unorganised this year!
What are your plans in the lead up to christmas? Are you sorted for your christmas shopping???
♥
Is it me or has christmas seemed to have exploded this year? I feel like far more people have started putting their decorations up early and in general the christmas buzz just seems to be on all around.
I am looking forward to many christmas where we can continue to build traditions and collect decorations.
Obviously this year is mine and Adams first christmas together so we have literally had to start from scratch. I have been excited for getting Christmas stuff since we went to Trentham in October and they were just starting to put all the Christmas stuff out.
We decided we were going to put our tree up on the 1st December but we got to the 23rd November and we couldn't wait any longer so we whacked on a Christmas movie (miracle on 34th street - of course!) and up the tree went!!
One thing I insisted on when we were looking for a tree was that I wanted a huge tree and we ended up with a 7ft tree which we brought from Sainsburys Homebase.
With it being our first christmas I wanted to get a really special decoration however when I looked into it the only ones I could find were either too expensive or I didn't like. When I was shopping for decorations in Wilkos (who have some absolutely fantastic decorations) I spotted this star so I decided to pick it up and do one ourselves! This was just £1 and I think is so much more personal.
Are you excited for Christmas this year?? Have you got your tree up yet??

First of all HAPPY 1st DECEMBER!!! Eeeeek
On Saturday me and mum went on one of our adventures and got on to a coach to the Good Food Show.
The food show is one of those places we have said we have wanted to go but never have - they do a trip every year at work but it always sells out really quickly. When mum spotted it this year and found out Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry were going to be there she waisted no time in booking the tickets!
I did lots of research into what and who was going to be there - clearly too did Adam who let me have 2 of my Christmas presents early - Paul Hollywood and Mary Berrys books which he told me to take with me to get signed! Such a sweetie!
When we got to the NEC we hot footed off to the WHSmith stand where they were doing the book signings and caught the tale end of Paul's interview.
We then got ourselves into the queue. As you can imagine there was quite a queue for the lovely Paul but actually we didn't wait too long.
Then this happened :O Eeeeek!
Got my book signed :)
We then had tickets for the Super Theatre to see Paul and Mary - we had bloody fab seats - 7 rows back - where we could see everything that was going on perfectly!

The show was absolutely hilarious! Paul and Mary really are funny - as was the camera man!
We then had a mooch around the stalls and brought some bits - I brought a present for my brother and his fiancé for Christmas and also a couple of presents for me and Adam! I also picked up a new hoover which I can't even tell you how much I am in love with!!! Its not the normal thing I would review but I will defiantly be doing a review on this!
We then mooched back to the WHSmith stand for Mary Berry! We were right in going early - we saw the tail end of Antonio Carluccio which was pretty cool! After we got in the queue it suddenly got huge! Understandably.
Again you can't beat a Berry Selfie!
Eeeeeek so amazing!!! can not believe I actually got to meet her!
We then spotted Jordan from this years bake off wondering around and couldn't resist a photo with him!!!
Overall such a fab day! There were lots of other photos but I won't spam you!!!
Have you ever been to the food show???

There has been a lot of posts going around on Facebook recently about posting the top 5 photos which make you happy! I couldn't narrow mine down to just 5 ... it was just too hard! I thought I would share them with you too!
I love this photo of our church choir (along with our Vicar Terry who is next to me on the right and Pat who is also next to me) - this was taken during our church's centenary weekend.
Awww look at the babies! Its hard to believe they were ever that small and look how blue their eyes were!
This is Adams (and mine I guess) nephew! We had a weekend up in Sheffield with Adams mum and dad live and Jacob was up for the weekend - it was great as it gave us a great chance for some nephew - aunty bonding!
This is from mine and my bestie (whose name is also Laura) trip to Birmingham last year! We had an awesome couple of days shopping and chatting and generally having a laugh.
Again I love this photo. This is from when Mum and dad renewed their Wedding vows in 2012 for their 25th Wedding Anniversary! I love this photo of all of us!
Again from mum and dads vow renewal - A rare photo with my nanna smiling!
Love this one of me and Adam when we went on a little road trip to the Trafford Centre - this has been my phone background for aggggges (I have just changed it today for the christmas tree one)
This is from my Uncles 50th fancy dress party when we wen as Micky and Minnie.
I love this photo - its such a shame it is blurred but still the perfect capture of such a special moment. I love genuine look of surprise on my face.
A very proud moment of my baby brother graduating his PGCE.
Again this is from my uncles 50th! Love this photo of us all!
Have you done this favourite photo challenge. Leave your links in the comments.

Hello my lovelies! Grab yourselves a brew!!!
Today I have decided to go for a nice hot chocolate 'cause you know you can't beat a hot chocolate on these cold nights!
How on earth are we nearly in December? Where on earth has November gone??
This month has been a right busy one! Lets catch up with what I've been up to since I last posted!
Me and Adam has been collecting lots of Christmas bits! It started at the end of December when we went shopping at our local garden centre in Trentham Gardens! Then to make it worse we nipped to Sainsburys home base for something and they had a 7ft Christmas tree on offer which obviously came home with us! Since then we have had a couple of trips to various stores which resulted in lots of Christmas decorations sitting in our spare room! Anyway yesterday this happened!
We had our Christmas Fayre at church on Saturday and planned to spend the afternoon watching Christmas films and we just decided that was it - we couldn't wait any more! We had planned to do it on 1st December which coincided with our Monday night date night but oh well! I love it!! Its getting me so excited now! :)
Last weekend me and mum went off to Leeds on our annual christmas shopping trip which is organised through work - normally its Manchester but it was a nice change to go to Leeds as Ive never been to Leeds before.
Leeds is a really lovely city and we didn't really see that much of it! We didn't even come across the Christmas Market! I loved all the little arcades and picked up some really cool christmas presents!
We have had a couple of lovely nights with friends! My best friend who this year moved over to one of the nearby towns finally got to meet Adam on Saturday when we went round to her new home! It was so lovely as me and her got the chance to catch up but also Mark (her partner) and Adam had a lovely little bonding session chatting about football, Sheffield, gaming... It was lovely to see.
In terms of blogging I feel really behind! The last couple of years I have normally done some of my gift guides by now, to be honest in terms of Christmas I am pretty far behind! I have only brought a couple of presents! I need to get my act together!!! Gift guide posts will defiantly be coming up over the next couple of weeks! I also have some new products to share with you!
Hope your all well! Catch me up with all your gossip!

After what felt like weeks of build up – getting ourselves all excited
on twitter – yesterday I jumped on a train to Birmingham to the FABB Birmingham
event! I had seen some write up about the events which had already taken place
in Liverpool and Manchester so I was very excited to head off to Birmingham!
Even more exciting I arranged to meet up with the lovely Sarah [Link] and Naomi
[link] who I met at the event I went to in May in Birmingham!
To be honest once I got there I was very glad that I had arranged to
meet up with the girls. Especially since Naomi knew exactly where she was
going! My sense of direction if I have not been somewhere is awful (thank god
for google maps and smart phones).
The event was held in the Custard Factory which isn’t somewhere I had
seen or heard of before but was an awesome area just south of the hustle and
bustle of the Bull Ring.
The building itself that we were in was a very cool café come bar
called Alfie Birds. Hosting 4 floors we made our way upstairs to where the event was
being held – of course after we had picked up our awesome free goodie bag.
How fantastic is this goodie bag! Inside there was a mini Benefit they are real mascara, a full sized batiste dry shampoo, some fake tan and a little travel mitt, some N spa perfect blur primer, hello breath spray, dermalogica exfoliator as well as lots of other little goodies!
There were lots of different brands at the event. Some beauty, some
fashion. It was lovely to chat to some of the brands that were there – there
was a mixture of brands that I had heard of like Me Me Me and other ones that I
was new to but that sounded amazing! It was lovely to get the opportunity to
chat to the owners of the smaller brands and listen to their background and
ethos! Often as beauty bloggers we try out so many different products but you
don’t get the opportunity to sit and chat with the makers of those products!
I particularly loved chatting with the owners of the brands – Bee Good, Bodhi and Birch and Anovia who all have an ethos of using natural products.
We also got the opportunity to chat to Tom Pellereau who was on the apprentice
a couple of years ago with his product the Style File. What was really lovely
is not only did he take the time to explain the products he had to us, he also
was interested in hearing what products we would love to see in the future and
took a genuine interest in hearing our ideas!
Look at all the fantastic products I came away with! Lots of amazing freebies! Me me me certainly gave a good haul of stuff away! Keep your peepers peeled over the next month or so as you know I shall be testing these out to the max!!! Overall I had a fab day - it was lovely to meet some new bloggers and catch up with some Id met before! I shall definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for future FABB events!!!

I was SO excited when a couple of weekends ago me and mum jumped on the train to Manchester where we met up with my future mother in law and headed off to Manchester Central for the National Wedding Show.
I brought the tickets wayyyy back in August just after we got engaged after seeing it advertised online and I planned the day like a military operation so that our train from Stoke got into Manchester the same time as Wendy (the future MIL) from Sheffield! Unfortunately Wendy missed her train (long story) and we had to wait but it was all good!
The day itself was fantastic. I had never been to Manchester Central before but it was a gorgeous venue. We wandered around all the stalls where there was a variety of different people including invitations, photographers, cake makers, dresses. I tried a couple of dresses on from a shop which was actually local to me who I knew were going and who had the Alfred Angelo Disney dresses available to try on - if you have not seen these click here and fall in love.

Sat having afternoon tea
Soooo yummy
Once we had afternoon tea we wandered around some more and I tried a couple more dresses on - one of which I fell in love with - completely not what I thought i wanted (but then that is always what they say) but thats all the details your getting!!!
Overall we had a fantastic day - there were some good stalls there and some good talks throughout the day. However one thing I was a little disappointed with is that it was claimed as a National wedding show and yet 99% of the people there were from Manchester or norther.
This would have probably been fab to go to if you were from Manchester or if you have nothing booked for your wedding but for us, everything is more or less sorted. I was hoping that there would be more people there doing table decorations or such - the only person of any sort like that was a very rude lady who ran a flower stall who seemed outraged when I said I was allergic to flowers - a total difference to the lady I met at a Wedding fayre this week who explained not all flowers have a scent (apparently dutch roses don't) which was fab to know!
I had a great day - I wouldn't go to this again next year but we definitely had a nice day out and was nice to spend time with not just my mum but Adams mum too :)
♥
It may only be October but the truth is, it is actually only 9 weeks until christmas!
I love christmas, I am like a child in a sweet shop and this year I am especially excited since it is mine and Adams first christmas together.
We made a detour to Trentham Garden centre on the way home when Adam picked me up from work yesterday. We knew they had started having their christmas stuff in because when we went a few weeks ago on our week off they were just starting to put the stuff out. When we went last night it was like full blown christmas!!! We had to hold ourselves not to grab a trolley and fill it with stuff! It wasn't just all the trees and decorations that got me excited, all the table decorations too! We have a 6 seater table which I love and we have decided we are going to have my mum, dad and brother around for Christmas lunch. I am looking forward to getting all the bits.
Thinking about Christmas also got me thinking about Christmas Traditions. When I lived at home we had several traditions; Its not Christmas until you have seen - Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, Muppets Christmas Carol and we always had bagels for breakfast on christmas morning. Me and mum always had a little tipple of baileys when we were making christmas lunch. Now I can't help thinking about other traditions and what traditions I would like me and Adam to start!
What Christmas traditions do you have as a family???
Also feel free to follow my Christmas board on pinterest (unloved button) - as well as my others of course!

You may remember back in August (here) I posted an updated so say we had 2 new members join our family.
I can't believe that we have had them for 3 months now!!!
I just thought today that I would share a little update with you as to how our little girls are getting on!
As you can see they are getting much bigger now! I can not even tell you how much we are in love with them!! They are getting such little personalities now! Adam is still struggling to tell them apart (they are identical apart from Luna has about 5 or 6 hairs on her right ear)
Bella is a total mummies girl! She was the smaller one of the 2 when we had them. She has caught up with Luna now but when you look at them she still has a slightly more baby face. She loves to come and snuggle on you - she particularly likes to snuggle on your shoulder. If you pick her up she loves to have a little nibble on your fingers but will let you hold her for ages before she jumps down.

Luna
Luna is in comparison is a bit of a daddies girl. She loves to sit and snuggle with daddy and recently has started suckling on Adams hand. Luna in particular is usually the one running around like a complete nutter (although to be fair they are both guilty of that)
Both of them have settles in so well. Both of them love to snuggle up. They are both absolutely crazy for kitten milk. Seriously you only have to open the fridge and they know what it is! They are both pur so load as well too!
At the moment we are working up to getting their collars on them (so Adam can tell them apart) but at the moment they are still a little small i think! We are also working on teaching names but with two of them we are finding it difficult! Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hello lovelies.
First of all I want to throw this out there and say this isn't a sponsored post. Any opinions here on this app have been formulated myself and I have built from using and loving the app myself.
What I want to talk to you about an app called My Supermarket.
You know when you go to the Supermarket and with some you get a voucher or you have to put your receipt number in to say if they have been cheaper. With the my supermarket app you cut that step out altogether. Rather than you finding out your cheapest supermarket after you have been and done your shopping, with the my supermarket app you find out which is the cheapest supermarket before you go.
When you open up the app it gives you the option of creating a new list. You then get the option of choosing a supermarket - I usually chose Asda as that is one of the ones we go to regularly apart from Aldi - which you can also choose.
Once you have selected your list, you then build your shopping list. You can either do this by typing the its you are looking for in the search box or it also breaks items down for you into categories such as fruit and veg, diary.

Once you have your list all together you can browse the list you have and it will give you a price of how much everything will cost at your chosen supermarket. It also gives you the option of comparing here.
Once you have hit the compare button it brings up how much your items would cost at the supermarkets it compares with. I always ignore Boots and Superdrug as I don't see the point in this unless your comparing health and beauty items (great if you want to see if the boys razors are on offer anywhere).
Another good thing about this app is it allows you to see offers - quite often if we need food for the kittens I will get it up on the app and see where the kitten food is on offer - you wouldn't believe the difference - some supermarkets it is £3.50 and others it is on offer for 2 for £5 so obviously we go where the offers are!
Have you ever used this app? Are you loving it?
