It is tradition for many people around the time of lent to give something up. For the last few years I have decided to give things up. Lent is about a time of reflection and removing things from your life. However I also know people who decide to take things up for Lent as well.
This year I have decided to remove the following things from my life for the period of lent:
- Chocolate
- Sweets
- Biscuits
- Cakes
- Crisps
- Fizzy Drinks
If you think back to last year I posted this post to let you all know what I was giving up for Lent so I thought I would do the same this year. I want to do again what I did last year, get rid of all the crap in my life that seems to be sneaking - not as much since I have been 100% focused on slimming world but they do have a habit of sneaking in. So here is what I have decided to give up for Lent 2012.
- Chocolate
- Sweets
- Cakes
- Biscuits
- Crisps
Also during this Lent I want to start saying thank you to God more for what I have. It is often easy to forget all the good things we have in our life and just be sad for the things which are lacking.
Are you giving up anything for Lent this year? What are your lent sacrifices?
So I hope you are all full of yummy pancakes! :)
Sorry for the lack of tutorial Tuesday post today. It was mad at work today and I didn't finish until late and veibg totally unprepared I hadn't got anything planned.
So tomorrow (Ash Wednesday) begins the start Lent. Now I know it is customary for people to give things up for lent. Some people do it just because its on of those things you do. Others to strengthen their faith.
I thought long and hard about what I wanted to give up for lent and I have decided to get rid of all the crap from my life. And so this lent I stall be giving up:
- Chocolate
- Sweets
- Cakes and Biscuits
- Fizzy Drinks
I also want to make the time this lent to say thank you to God more for everything that I have.
Are you giving up anything for lent???
